Debut of the PalmBoss blog

I have so many thoughts regarding the proper use and care of palms in Florida landscapes that it will literally fill years worth of these posts.

Future posts will cover the obvious topics of palm care, pest remediation, and disease prevention. I will chronicle the progress of our palm nursery as we grow into our first five acres of production area.

I have a never-ending thirst for finding new candidates for palm farming in Florida, so I will share my experiences and discoveries as I relentless pursue new and exciting palm varieties.

Nearly all palm species in Florida landscapes are from elsewhere in the world, and understanding where they naturally occur is very important in determining what cultural practices will be needed for them to thrive in our state.

Stay tuned. I am glad to have this new way of sharing what I have learned, and hopefully I can inspire others to pursue their interest in palms. — Pete
